Entering from either the top or the bottom I have managed to kill both roach queens, but I can't seem to kill the serpent. I get him to shrink down to four or five segments long, but can't finish him off; he just goes round in circles and there doesn't seem anywhere to herd him into.

This is definitely one of the rooms that I never replay...I think you have to trick the snake.

I give in. The snake just follows me every time, and I must have tried nearly a hundred times! Which trap spot do you use? I've been using the respawn spot (the one with the cross) as I can't see any others. I get the snake to come down and I side-step diagonally so I'm next to his head with the trap square the other side. Then no matter where I move he follows me rather than enter the square - If I move down he moves down, if I move up he always turns right away from the square - this is getting infuriating:-(.

When you are on your way down Dugan's for the first time any snippet of information on a particular room may be of interest regardless of time.

Admittedly all problems should eventually be covered but who is to say when?

The point was that he replied with a solution when one was already present and no new one was requested. We in general don't go around just spitting the answers out unless we are expressly asked.

Game on,
