I feel somewhat embarrassed to ask for help on one of the only rooms with no topic, but I just can't seem to figure this out.

I can't get in to the room with the brain before the captain stands on the pressure plate to close the door. I can close the door to the west, but I need to wait for him to get pretty far to the east before stepping off my pressure plate, otherwise he quickly goes through the middle door. And if I wait long enough to make sure he goes to the east, I can't get to the brain on time.

Am I missing something obvious? Thanks in advance for the help.

If you're talking about a room with a brain, I think you mean 5N, 3E not 4N,3E. If that's the case, notice the pressure plate at 16,13 and what it does. Using the pressure plate and orb, you can get the captain to the right position.

That is what I meant! You'd think I could figure out what "quince" means, sorry. I will try your advice. Thanks very much!
