×to make sure you're in a good spot when you take out the last piece of gel (ie make sure that your back is to the gap in the gel babies).
As for cutting the gel. I started at (20,11), working my way SE, taking out the bits on the east side as I went. Then I worked from (22,17) going NW... taking bits out from both sides as available. The key here being not to get too far ahead, or take out blobs where you don't have room (make the room by working elsewhere as needed).
