I voted for Architecture and Problem solving, but the more I think about it, the more I'd like to see some contests with a lower bar to entry. It took a lot of time to design a hold for Elemental Showcase, and it seems like a contest that involves writing or even creating a graphic could be a lot less time consuming.
That being said, I had an idea for a writing contest if anyone is interested.

When we were wee little delvers our parents probably taught us rhymes like "
Thirty days hath September"
to remember which months have 30 days and which ones have 31.

Well, you'd imagine little ones on the Eighth learn similar rhymes in order to remember some of the arcane rules of life that they have to live with. You can almost picture Uncle Bethro sitting Halph down on his lap and reciting the following:

×NORTH then EAST then SOUTH then WEST,
are the directions that serpents like best.
Excepting on turns ending five through nine,
if the serpent can move towards you vertically fine.
However on turns ending zero through four,
the serpent prefers horizontal moves more.
There's one final rule which can trump all the rest
for deciding the move that a serpent likes best.
If the serpent's directly in line with you,
he'll move on that line: away, or to.
So the contest is this:
Come up with a rhyming verse that accurately describes one or more of the interactions or movement patterns in DROD. Some possibilities are serpent movement (obviously), brained movement, tarstuff cuttability, movement order, goblin movement, pressure plate types, etc. I literally came up with the example above on my walk into work so I don't imagine it would be difficult to come up with something more clever in not too much time. What do you guys think? Good idea for a contest or corny?
Okay here's another one just for fun:

×The Dagger is a weapon,
that will let you turn with speed.
It also kills two beasts at once
if you have the need.
The Staff is quite a weapon
for it pushes things around.
And even when on oremites
it is structurally sound.
The Cabers is a weapon
that can save you from a bomb.
It lets you push at things as well
and crush things with aplomb.
The pickaxe is a weapon
that has a tip that’s blunt.
It cuts through things like briar
from the side but not the front.
The spear too is a weapon
that can push as well as stab.
It can break through tricky tarstuff
no matter where you jab.
Plenty of weapons can get the job done
But most of the time I can wield only one
And if there was only one I could afford
I’d make it my trusty ol’ Really Big Sword
