Some thoughts:

- Thief is a really, really, great series. I loved all 3 of them.

- I both cheated and played through honestly, in that I played from beginning to end honestly but cheated to find the secrets in Thief 1 and 3. I never completed Thief 2.

- The poll contains a spoiler for thief 3.

All I have played of thief was a demo of Thief 1 that I downloaded. So I don't have enough information to have formed an opinion. Your poll is defective it doesn't have I didn't play them.

Indeed, I've yet to play the Thief series either. As it's arguably the first stealth-em-up, I think I'm missing out.

Also on my to-do list is Chronicals of Riddick and about 130 other games. Thank god I'm taking a relative holiday next week. (There will be Internet access, so it will be business as usual.)

Well, I've never actually played thief, but I have played a game called Thievery. It's a mod for UT, and it's like a multiplayer thief game.

One team is the guards, and the other team is the thieves. The thieves must accomplish the objectives without running out of lives. Each team has a set amount of lives at the start. Thieves turn invisible in shadows, and gaurds do not, but gaurds have flares to light up shadows. Also, guards are much stronger than theives.

Its worth buying Unreal Tournament (bargin bin, $10) just to play this mod. Great game.

I know but anyone who's playing will figure it out in like five seconds once you play far enough.

The last 'mission' was a letdown. Anyway if you only spend your last mission's cash on health potions and you move quickly then you're set.

And I've tried downloading System Shock but my computer couldn't run it. Maybe if I fiddle with the settings...
