Also shouldn't this thread be for Hardest Way? 6b doesn't make any sense for Harder since you can easily get the adder out.

Ah. That does make sense, but I certainly didn't know it! Possibly I should have replayed TCB first...

e: Also, yes, this should be for Hardest Way. I was looking at the room image for Harder Way to compare the two and I must have gotten (more) confused...

That doesn't exactly help much. I can't see a way to force the small adder northwards over the trapdoor, not least because it always seems to be able to "see" a path to me. Including through the diagonal gap that it can't get through, so hiding directly below the seep's chamber just doesn't work because the adder follows me down the right-hand corridor and traps itself.

There is only one brain pathmap for all monsters, so snakes will see paths involving diagonal moves. In order to stop the snake seeing a path, you have to make a complete blockage
