I think I have it.
I can get to a position where I am standing on (23,19) and the construct standing on (27,19), by

× going through into the tunnel initially with the sword facing NE, and

× standing still for a turn NOT swinging the sword on (27,25), thus letting the construct catch up its "
lost"
turn around the southeastern corner but losing a turn around the northern corner, and also

× stepping on the southern pressure plate twice at (23,23).
The rest needs very precise timing: one must

× turn sword round to SE while Beethro and the construct are in the safe position (23,19 and 27,19),

×step on the southern pressure plate twice on the way back, so as to leave the door open behind you:

× arrange to kill the construct at (27,13) EXACTLY on turn 30 on the clock, then go back to the pressure plate of (23,23) (the only safe place to turn the sword around) and face East. At this point the door to your north should be CLOSED.

× While sitting on that plate, wait exactly one extra turn (be on it for 2 turns but spend only 1 swinging the sword): so as to arrive back at (25,14) when the construct wakes up. You can now move adjacent to it and lead it around both corners, and the door at (23,19) will open when you and the golem successively step on the pressure plate below it.

× Kill it on the northern pressure plate by backswiping from above.

× Oh wait. This floor has one last trick: Not quite enough time to get through the door before the construct revives again... Even alternating between east and north of the plate leaves you out of synch and it kills you when it revives... BUT there IS time to head back south, swing round to point north, and kill the construct again, from the south this time, before escaping!
The really annoying thing?
Because of the way the pressure plate at (23,23) works, I can't simply let him follow me from adjacent with sword facing east, because the door to the north closes! The whole rigamarole above - precise timing and all - is the only way to have the door closed when the construct is adjacent and chasing, so that it opens when you pass over the pressure plate: AND the only way to break the symmetry of position between yourself and it so as to draw it around the corner of (26,12) which you yourself can't step back on unless you kill the construct on the move of doing so, and there's nowhere to *wait* to let it come around the corner of its own accord, nor anywhere far enough north to draw it around from a safe position, so it has to move to a square adjacent to you when it steps on that space...
