Hm, haven't really been following this. Looks like the USA did pretty well for a nation that barely cares about the "beautiful game" 99% of the time.

I'd agree with Jatopian that the USA did surprisingly well, much better than England, who, despite being ranked highly by FIFA, came last in the group. I didn't think England would get through, but it was a surprise to see Costa Rica finish top. However, I think that Belgium should beat USA any day of the week, with players like Courtois, Kompany, Hazard, Lukaku, Fellaini and De Bruyne, and looking at the stats, USA did well to only lose by 1 goal. Argentina vs Belgium should be very close, personally, I think it will go to ET, and maybe penalties.

I also agree,
USA played a very good game, and made it very dangerous at the end, (and even could have won).


But today it's D-day,
newspapers, radio-stations, facbook, the internet,...

Everybody talks about "Messi vs Belgium"

I'm 33 years old, I was to young the remember things from 1986 (when we got 4th place),
But this I haven't seen before: cars and houses with flags, even painted ...

To tell you 3 years ago, when we wanted to see a game of Belgium, we needed to live stream on the internet, because national TV wouldn't broadcast it,
and now this...

I'm excited!!!

That game was unbeliveable! I would have guessed that we win 2:0 or 2:1 - after all Brazil lost their two key players Neymar and T. Silva - but I'd never expected that we demolish Brazil with a 7:1 victory.

Tomorrow we will see if we are up against Lionel Mes.. ehrm Argentinia or the Netherlands. My bets are on the Netherlands.

Man that match was Klose. A cancelled goal for both teams in the first half due to offsides, the kickbox save from Neuer, Lionel Messing up our defense every now and then and finally the goal from Götze in the overtime. God thanks it didn't get to a penalty shootout.

In the end we won the titel by a tiny margin but well deserved after a great WM.
