×Sure, I can awaken one eye with the decoy killing the other in the same row. However, doing so uses up both of my mirrors (I don't see any way of retrieving the reflecting mirror, or reusing the opening mirror); thus the only means of opening the other side's doors is by luring the awoken eye onto the pressure plate. And I can't see any way of doing that, no matter how I try to distract it with the other decoys; it sticks too closely to me on that side.

×then went to the secret room to the west, and now can't back out of this room again. I realise I can "restore" to keep playing, but usually there's a why to do so in game.

And you're right, you can't put a decoy on a pressure plate.
