×I started by activating the leftmost pressure plate.

×1. I need to step on the middle pressure plate to have any chance of killing the bottom eye.
2. I can only get in and then out of the middle pressure plate area while the top-right pressure plate is still held down. Stepping on the middle plate will immediately cause the eye to move -- if it's still there -- trapping me.
3. So I need to use the serpent to hold the top-right pressure plate down at the exact moment the eye up there would otherwise release it.
4. If the serpent's turn-order was *after* the eye, I could solve the room right now, maneuvering the serpent to step on the top-right plate on the same turn I wake up the eye by stepping on the middle plate. I'd then lure both the serpent and eye into the bottom chamber to kill the serpent.
4a. But the serpent's turn comes before the eye, so the only option is to kill the top-right eye on the same turn the serpent walks onto that plate, which leaves me enough time to walk to the center plate and out while the serpent keeps the top-right plate held down.
5. But now I don't see how to get the serpent trapped anywhere.
5a. Because the bottom eye isn't against a wall, and there's no way to wake it up; I can only stab it.

×#3 is not correct.

×In any case, what you want to achieve is the following pattern:
SE
SS
where S is serpent's body, E is the eye.

×You want to step on the middle pressure plate but as soon as you do the eye steps off it's pressure plate trapping you right? It would be nice if you could get the eye off its pressure plate before or after you step on the one in the middle. I got the eye off its plate exactly one turn before I stepped on the middle plate. How?
