Leaving the plate below untripped. It's almost like I need to do this:



But can't maneuver the roaches down that far.

No -- Dragon Fogel's diagram was correct, but only if you have the queens in the right order. You can tell what order they are by clicking on them.

So, how do you work out what the correct order is? Well, the easternmost queen will always go south. The second queen will go southeast if it can, but not if it's blocked by the eastern queen. So, given that those two start off horizontally adjacent, the eastern queen needs to move before the queen next to it in order to continue blocking her when it's her turn to move. Work from there....

From the first arrangement you have secreted above, the next time the roaches move it should be because you regain visibility. From the pattern in your 2nd diagram, it looks like you may be driving them down while still invisible. Also, as Nuntar and others have stated above, make absolutely certain you have them ordered correctly.

Here's the clue from the first page that showed not only the configuration, but where to put it and what the numbers should be.

If the queens are in that position, and right clicking on them gives you those numbers, you've got the position.

Okay, I see what I did wrong. I had them numbered backwards.

And now I have a new problem:

When set up as specified, my Queens go from this:



To this:



Leaving me in the same position I was in previously, where the first plate isn't tripped and I can't progress further through the puzzle.

I have lined them up horizontally, and this works until the last pressure plate, where it obviously causes an issue. What am I missing here?
