This thread is now absolutely about Englos Defense strategy.

Is there any reason not to let out all three engineers right at the start?

Is there a better way to set bombs than 'fuse, keg', right next to each other?

Did anyone find a better place to hole up than the middle of the room?

I would answer "no" to all three of those.

Did anyone manage it without a speed potion?

(I found this room moderately fun, but imagine it would be great to optimise in terms of inventory, number of remaining lives etc).

Yeah, the top right bit is a shop where you can buy a clone or speed potion.

I would say yes to all of Banjooie's questions. First off, you only need one engineer in terms of speed between rooms and three will just get in your way, making it harder for certain approaches.

As for the middle of the room, I took right next to the entrance to get a better score.

I also didn't take the speed potion for the purposes of not increasing my demo time, but I did do a run with the clone potion so that I could quickly get to the conquer token.

Apparently I also had 77 inventory left at the end of my run where I didn't take the clone potion.

Perfect defense of 10, only used one architect, and add me into the camp of people who didn't know about the potions.

No monsters ever got as far as the shop. I wasn't trying to do a challenge or anything, I was just playing it safe and trying to stop the monsters before they got very far and I didn't release the architects because I thought that would take too much preparation time.

Going for the middle is probably a lot more sensible now that I think about it.

I wasn't exactly trying to conserve my inventory, but for what it's worth I have 42 left over at the end if anyone wants to compare.
