i ve bought both games last september from shinyloot..both are installed without a problem but when i start both games i see a black screen for 1 second and then nothing. i have ubuntu 13.10 64 bit. that s what i get from terminal

Hi,

I have recently bought DROD: King Dugan's Dungeon from shinyloot and have the exact same problem. I run Xubuntu 12.04.3. Any suggestions?

Here's the terminal output:

Update: renaming SDL library in Libs folder solved the issue for me.

I am having the same problem on Ubuntu. I am confused on what files you renamed and what you renamed them to for this to work. I am in the Libs folder, and there is a libSDL-1.2.so.0 file... is this what you are renaming? If so, what are you exactly renaming it to. I can't get any of the DROD games to run on my Ubuntu machine.

Same problem here, seems like a common thing for us, Linux users :(

So what lib you renamed? there are 3 of them which contains the SDL name:libSDL-1.2.so.0, libSDL_mixer-1.2.so.0 and libSDL_ttf-2.0.so.0

The error in my terminal is:Couldn't open library libgtk-x11-2.0.so.0 so I think you renamed the last lib of above but I did this and the terminal send me more errors when I tried to run drod-kdd:

Couldn't find symbol gtk_init_check
Couldn't find symbol gtk_main
Couldn't find symbol gtk_main_quit
Couldn't find symbol gtk_message_dialog_new
Couldn't find symbol gtk_window_set_title
Couldn't find symbol gtk_widget_show
Couldn't find symbol gtk_widget_destroy
Couldn't find symbol g_signal_connect_data
Warning: Couldn't get memory information, assuming it's ok.

Thanks! I tried what you said and it worked . I just removed SDL libraries from the libs directory.
Searching for installing them I saw I already had them

I'm glad to help you. It will be great to put this solution into DROD's FAQ/Wiki (does it exist?) since it is not very obvious.

I believe trick is either working on or has uploaded some updated installers for KDD and JtRH. Not certain about DROD RPG. This might fix this issue.

Yeah, get KDD and JtRH v2.0.18 at the downloads page. There's some other fixes too, apart from actually working now.

DROD RPG fix coming soon. It's pretty much done, just need some updated dat files for it.
