Though I'm REALLY not sure what's the more honourable course of action here, it's quite a moral dilemma
I disagree that it's a dilemma:

×I forget exactly who I talked to to learn this, but it seems clear that Hervor is a swanmaiden who, in a moment of unawareness/weakness, was captured by Volund (who stole her wings) and was forced to marry him. I have not seen anything in the game that suggests Volund has any legitimate right to enslave her in this way, and she clearly wants to leave as soon as she has the chance.

×The myth of the swan-maiden has its equivalent in many other folklores/mythologies, and this kind of marriage is not necessarily "forced" in the sense that the maiden can truly fall in love and and form a family with a human. However, this human must hide the maiden's means of transformation from her - in this case, the wings - because otherwise, the maiden will transform back one day and leave. Hervor does seem sad, but on the other hand, she cares about Heime very much, and I feel bad about depriving a young boy of his mother.
