I was able to complete the first section of the room without much of a problem, but the second section is giving me trouble.

What would it take to slow the briar's growth further than I already am?

Yeah, that certainly is the dilemma with the second section.

You want to drop the trapdoors in such a way that the briar grows quickly at first to expand its surface area, then gets really slow for the last 5 or 6 expansions - it better be filling up the entire trapdoor area by the time the briar up top is reaching the roach.

There's a simple geometric pattern that will cause this to happen, so don't worry about having to find a particular asymmetric chaotic pattern of trapdoors or anything like that.

Even with those hints, I am not even close; I might be able to solve it if i knew how many trapdoors to drop.

While ith only has 12 dropped trapdoors, this gets me far closer than anything else i've tried. . Which of them shouldn't I drop?
