I watched Ender's Game this afternoon, and it was really well done. It felt like a long movie. They got a lot in, but obviously had to hurry through some parts. I've read every book in the Enderverse, Shadow series, Formic prequels, etc. and it all seemed pretty accurate. They did tone down the consequences of the violence in the books for the movie to appeal to a wider audience, which I think was a mistake, since that's a main focus of the book. Also, too much Petra.

Anybody else? What did you think?

Agree too much petra. And toning down the violence hurts the turn of the story. You find that ender's remorse is not as impactful when you feel like he has done less wrong. Or in what the adults have done through him.

Also my favorite, bean. Just so emasculated.

Good movie, better if you haven't read the book.

In the books the kinds were like 6 years old, but from what I saw in the trailers they seem more like 12 year olds. Is it something that will bother me when watching the movie? I am still kinda conflicted if I want to see it or not.

I reread the book about a month ago. For me, it was as good as the last time I'd read it, which was probably fifteen years ago. The kids in battle school were there for years. Though Ender entered young, I think we was about 12 years old during the second half or so of the book. Some kids there were 14, iirc.

Watched it yesterday and in general it was okayish to goodish, I'd say 7/10. I absolutely loved:

But yea, I've enjoyed it and if you haven't read the book I can recommend the movie.
