I assume this has been asked before, but I can't find a posting.

I will migrate from XP to WIN7 (on a different PC).

What do I have to do with my drod files?

Got it.

Migrating from XP to Win7 is a nightmare :(

However, migrating DROD is easy :)

Frankly speaking I would still prefer XP.

I have never seem WIN8, but I understand that it is not an operating system for professional users/developers.

Maybe, 8.1 is better.

Eh, I like it just fine. A lot better than XP, actually, and I have used both for years.

If you right click desktop --> personalize --> themes --> choose windows classic, it removes all the unnecessary fancy graphics and colours. I personally prefer this mode.

I think the part that alarms me is the pretenses that there's a valid reason for having Windows installed that isn't 'playing games'.

Sure, another pretense is developing Windows games.

My point is that it is, effectively, for entertainment purposes.

Don't mind me. I was just being cheeky. For entertainment purposes, which proves your point. :P

If you are not used to touchscreens on things like iPads and Android phones, then you will have a steep learning curve to navigate. When I first got this new PC, I couldn't even figure out how to turn the machine off. I was used to going to the start menu and there isn't one in Windows 8.
