Hi,

Newbie here, so I apologize in advance if this has been asked before (couldn't find an answer using SEARCH).

DROD Architect's Edition doesn't run very well on my laptop, a new Dell machine with a Windows XP OS. The animation is very balky, often sticking for a moment before continuing. Also, the sound makes popping noises that shouldn't be there. The game runs great on my older desktop (also a Dell, still running under Windows ME).

Is there a fix for this, or is the game just not written to run using XP?

Thanks,

Allen (an old Chip's Challenge veteran from many years ago)

At work, where I am forced to use XP, it runs almost as good as at my home computers, which run Linux.

Is DROD the only program giving you this kinda problems on the new laptop?

I used XP exclusively for DROD. There's the occasional glitch, but overall it runs very smoothly.

Sounds more like your graphics card is at fault. I've played DROD on Windows XP, Windows ME, and Windows 98 and they all ran practically the same for me.
