I'm starting a limerick thread
With words coming out of my head
If you have the time
Please jot down a rhyme
And post it on here, as I said.

There's nothing worse than laying a room bare
And then noticing the black door over there
I'll have to reset
Not for the last time, I bet
I've left myself a two by two tar square

When Beethro enters the room he knows,
He will always triumph over his foes,
For he's of sharp mind,
And he has a sharp sword,
He'll get out of here if his logics not flawed

There was an old man from Tueno,
A dastardly devilish fellow.
He slipped in some mud,
And he fell with a thud,
And was met with a laughing bellow.

I'm counting each step and swing of my sword
So that I'll get my name at the top of the board
Because playing is fun but I'm you'll agree
That its even better if your in the top three

So I'll enter and exit till I face the right way
And I'll kill them all but it won't take all day
Because I've got the swish the step back left and right
To kill then get out as quick as I might

The snakes are the worst they cut me off at the path
But there no match for me I swing my sword and I laugh
Ha! And this room is through
And I'm on to the next one
To beat that score too

Roach queens in a box hurt my brain.
Warbas? I'd rather open a vein.
At this rate I'll never
Be nearly so clever
As to beat holds by calamarain.

As I review the room I mourn
and adopt an expression forlorn
In comes the reply
"What's the reason why?"
And I say "This hold's by Dischorran."

A smitemistress had needs that were urgent.
Said Beethro, "my adder's your servant!"
But once it was cornered,
it quickly shrunk forward.
"My dear, that seems but a serpent."

These aren't mine, but mathematicians might appreciate:

The integral t-squared dt,
From one to the cube root of three,
Times the cosine
Of three pi by nine,
Is log of the cube root of e.

---

The integral sec y dy,
From zero to one-sixth of pi,
Is log to the base e
Of the square root of three
Times the sixty-fourth power of i.

I'm pleased that you're all joining in
For surely a poem's not sin
It's just simple verse
(Exceedingly terse)
Made up of some words from within

I loved the new features from Mike,
Especially the room with the bike.
But really mrimer,
you put in a timer -
too fast and you're killed by a spike?!

When I got to the chromatic goo,
I realised that none of it were true.
I was taken for a fool
(though the bike really was cool)
At least there's unlimited undo.

(Nothing to do with DROD I'm afraid, but just to support this thread.)

To the country of ancient Ptolemy
A quiet wee voice whispered “follow me”.
Through an old orange grove
And wild flowers I roved -
It truly revitalised all of me.

There was once an inquisitive Aumtlich
Who went questing for the rhyme to "aumtlich";
When each creature he found
Made a different sound
He beamed, and made of them a warm dish.

When I first came down here I thought "Well,
Now I'm stuck in non-musical hell."
But percussion is tops:
Hit a roach and it pops,
And that orb there goes DING like a bell.

This is my favorite limerick.

A flea and a fly in a flue
Were wondering what they should do.
"Let us flee" said the fly.
"Let us fly" said the flea.
So they flew through a flaw in the flue.

Originally by Ogden Nash.

What a ridiculous room.
One turn of my sword and *boom*.
It's really frustrating,
I'm fed up with waiting,
Not possible, I'll assume.

I live in the far North of Scotland.
Let me sing you the praises of Highland.
With its stern towering bens
And its dark brooding glens,
This beautiful place is my heart-land.

The hills and the moors and the sea
Are as lovely as lovely can be.
There’s the vast azure sky
Where the wild buzzards fly.
This is home, sweetest home to me.

I sit here and look at the view
As though I am seeing it anew.
It is amazingly calm-
I’m lost in a dwam
And I wish I could share it with you.

:yes
