Ending is a tile-based turn-based deterministic game where things try to kill you.
There are 60 levels, an adventure mode, a random maze mode and a level editor. It's free, online, and Flash.

All you DROD people should totally check it out!

Heh, cool. A nice diversion, not too hard.

It is very Drod like. I had a good time (not all the way through yet). It is somewhat annoying not to be able to see the entire rooms at once though.

I felt the enemy movement order and AI was a bit too complex/unguessable.

Mmm, yeah, those get weird at times (as they do in DROD). That sort of thing can be fun to try and figure out at times, if you think the mechanics are fairly presented, but it's a thin line to walk I think. Personally I would say there are places where both Ending and DROD fail in this aspect.

I liked the part where it was clear and obvious how the explosive enemies worked.

I don't think I /saw/ that part, but I'm sure it was there.

If you're in the matrix, then you can see the code.

It took me a many hours of failed attempts, but I finally beat the adventure mode with a score of 435! I assume that's move count.

The adventure mode of this game is where the real meat is, in my opinion, but it's incredibly frustrating. It's near impossible to ditch the 4-way pushers once one is on your tail, and there are so many of them that spawn randomly that luck starts to play a huge factor. And I can't count the number of times I opened a doorway and immediately found myself in an impossible-to-escape situation.

I think I had fun though? I'm not entirely sure.
