I don't see my user avatar in the posts I've made recently. I didn't get an error when I uploaded it either, so I don't know what's the problem. There is an img tag and link to the file in the postings' sidebar (I looked with Firebug), but it displays the alt text for me instead.

Does anyone else see the avatar? Is there something wrong with the file I uploaded? Should I try a different one?

EDIT: I'm not the only one unable to upload a new avatar. TripleM writes below about having the sam eproblem.

I can't see it with Opera. What are the dimensions, the size, and the format of the image?

And if you visit http://forum.caravelgames.com//avatars/4390/1277366372422.gif which is where your avatar is supposed to be you get a 404 error page, so it's no wonder it's not showing up...

I tried a new image, but it is not showing up either. As pointed out above, the problem is that the address the board software gave it is not good because the image is not accessible from it. There was no indication of any problem when I uploaded it.

This time I used a small PNG image of 60×60 pixels. It's less than 5KB.

I'll leave it up there until a board admin has time to look at the avatar uploading feature and see if it should work all right.

Probably an issue with permissions on the new server - just tried uploading an avatar and it didn't work for me either.

My current avatar image is probably not used as a default placeholder image in any browser. It' a bit too odd for that. Now that I think about it, it would make for a good substitute image for broken images, though. I'd wanna hear more about a browser that used something like it (though I'm just a boring Firefox user myself)

Also, I updated the first posting a little to point out others, namely TripleM, also cannot upload new avatars.
