Re: Flood Warning : Water Damage : 1 South, 2 East (+1)
You might want to try thinning them out by using the movement order method mentioned above.
Basically, monsters move in a specific order... if you click on one you'll get a number which shows you where it is in that order. If a row of monsters is moving in a direction and the order is such that the front monsters move first, the group will stick together... if the order of the monsters is reversed, though, the monsters will break up (the ones moving earliest are all blocked by monsters that move later, so only the one on the end can move... this gives a stream of monsters with one space between them).
Now you don't really have to spend a lot of time checking the order, just look for which direction the front of the ring of waterskippers breaks apart (if it's not doing it one way, it will do it the other)... if you make them move that way, you can catch one without a waterskipper on either side of it and take it out safely. The key would be to have your sword pointing straight in... you can't stab it at an angle, because you only have one space on either side to protect you while you do it. That gives you an entry point, and you should be able to take out a few more... and with the larger gap, placing a stepping stone will be easier (if you want to do that).
