I just don't get it! How can I activate the eyes unless I go up to the presure plate for the third chamber and once on the pressure plate I can't get back in time to escape never mind kill the brains and if I don't activate them all I have the same problem. Help please, I need an even bigger hint or a demo.

There isn't an issue of time until you get to the final plate...

As for the plate for the third chamber...

By choosing the correct sword direction before going in. It's a rather counterintuitive one (unless you've seen similar puzzles before).

Seems no matter how I set it up when I back out I'm always 3 spaces short.
