Gunthro and the Epic Blunder : Place of Whims : 1 South (0)

I guess there is no room for error in this room right?

I go to the orb and hit it at 29th turn. I retreat to the west and kill the roaches right behind me.

Then?

I studied my demo for a bit but I really can't give any advice above what everyone said other than "be more efficient" so I'm posting it.

It's also maybe a little different than the hints above - after the orb hit I get the 7 roach line at turn 22 which is sufficient for me to kill one of the queens.

This... Doesn't help me. The best I can get it (read: the ONLY way I can get it) is getting the roach line down to the 5 when you normally rotate, with the clock at 25.

I am at exactly this same endless cycle (rotate at turn 25).
And I can't watch jdyer's demo as it was made with a later version.
I bought this game as DROD 4.0.2

Any help please...

Stand two tiles west of the orb and swing back and forth until the roaches are reduced to a single line.

Walk two tiles forward. It should be turn 24 at this point.

Turn counterclockwise. Step north.

Step northwest.

Step north twice.

Turn sword clockwise until it faces north.

This will kill a queen, and the entire first wave of roaches will be dead. You'll have time to retreat back to the orb corridor and start killing again, but with one less queen so there are fewer roaches. You should be able to finish up from there.

After walking two tiles forward it's always turn 25 for me...

Alternatively I might have been using inconsistent terminology because when following a demo, I sometimes get confused as to whether to refer to the turn the clock hand is on, or the turn that's coming up. At the moment in question in my demo, the hand is on 24.

×Stand next to the orb until the roach in the bottom row advances. After that, you can advance one tile.

And if that doesn't help, you're sure you're hitting the orb on the spawn turn, not one turn afterwards?
