I just made a room for find bugs and it was successful! I found a very interesting bug!

Look at the black door and tar mother in this hold.

Not a bug.

At Turn 0, there is stable tar underneath the Tar Mother at (25,23), so the Black Gate is open. There is no stable tar underneath the Tar Mothers at (17,14)-(20,17).

At Turn 30, the bomb explodes, killing the (25,23) Tar Mother. This closes the Black Gate. Then the Tar Mothers at (17,14)-(20,17) grow: they can't grow over the Black Gate because it's closed, but they create stable tar underneath themselves. This opens the Black Gate again, but not before it has blocked the spawn of any tar.

At Turn 60, the Tar Mothers grow once more, and because the Black Gate is open this time, tar can grow there instead.

It's simply the order of things happening in each single turn that's driving this.
