Aha! That's the point of this room, to be able to pass the slayer without stopping.

Two things to think about:

How many spare moves do you have between the fuse and the orb?

Even with these hints I still can't get it.
I'm missing two moves to turn my sword to hit the orb, after i passed slayer in last alcove.

Demo or more specific hint please? :)

I have no clue what to do... I don't have enough space or time to get the slayer to come from me at the designated tile for it, let alone in a way that lets me kill the roach queens AND rotate. What am I missing?

I'm not sure what you're trying to do. There's no point where you need to wait for the slayer, other than when you're temporarily trapping him on the pressure plates.

Perhaps you're trying to get the slayer to do something that you should be doing yourself?

I'm trying to make the move over from the fuse to the orb--which isn't exactly going so hot as I cannot slip by him without wasting too much of my time--even if he's at the right spot, and even if I face the right direction.

Okay, I think what's confusing me is that you seem to think you don't have time to kill the queens.

It's perfectly fine if the wisp catches up to you, as long as you have some distance between you and the slayer already. That's plenty of time to turn. There's no rush to hit the fuse.
