Beta board?

"My beta holds" tab in profile is used for creating beta boards

Why would I do that, as opposed to simply posting on Architecture where anyone can test it?

if you're worried about people reading the solution to rooms(in people's comments) in architecture. Also, beta boards are more comfortable than topic in architecture:

1. for all beta testers, the hold's marked as "beta" in "change location" window;
2. it even allows beta testers to upload demos (viewable the same way as highscore demos on caravelnet)

:blink Well, that was... educational.

Eh, whatever. Not important to me. Anyway, I wanted to make three specific comments on Trickster's hold.

Trickster wrote: Okay, so: I create a beta board, then I upload my hold (I assume in anyone-can-edit format?), then I invite people. Is it common to create a thread in Architecture to ask who would be interested in beta-testing your hold, and then make the invites?
You got it perfectly. Or, if you do not want to create a thread in Architecture at all, you can shoulder-tap some people via PM and ask if they will help you test. I imagine you would get plenty of accepts that way, but you would probably get even more if you used a public thread in Architecture first.

Beta boards act just like regular boards, with their own standard threads and posts, except for the fact that only a select few can view the board. If I read your questions correctly, you do not need to do anything particularly special with the description, since the people that choose to accept the invitation will be granted access to the board where you can provide whatever information you like in the form of posts.

None of the bombs need to be set off in order to complete the room (or even make it easy). And no, killing the monsters doesn't change the way the briar grows. And finally, there hasn't been any briar growth changes in years.
I played the room again without activating the bombs, and I've just realised how easy the room is. Don't know what I was missing the first time :\
I still think it was a bit too much trial and error.

Which joke was this?

Ah, apparently it was poking fun at this guy for his 'rather interesting' spelling.

Reading through all his old posts is a good hour's worth of entertainment :D

Awwwww! I've missed the voting! I don't even know why I play this game if I suck this badly.

It's good practice to help one suck less, I find. Keeps the wits sharp.

Well, the results are in, and we have a winner! Congratulations to Penwielder, who instead wielded an architect's hammer to claim first prize, which in this case consists of 100 rank points and an item from the Prize Pile. Well done!

Coming in second was da rogu3, who gets 50 rank points, and BoyBlue gets 25 for coming in third. And now, since it's Canada Day, I'm going to take the rest of the day off.
I've awarded the prizes for this contest. Congratulations to the winners!
