Subject: Humble Indie Bundle 2 -- inclusion request

Hey there,

Thanks a lot for taking the time to contact us. We always like meeting other developers. Sadly there are more games out there than we are able to bundle and I don't think we will have a chance to consider the one you've just linked me to. Please feel free to stay on our radar though and keep us up to speed with your latest projects.

-John
I guess they are inundated with games to bundle into their bundles...

Half of which I already got on Steam - oh well, it's a donation for good causes and I don't have that much free time anyway... :)

(I didn't like Cogs that much and I still haven't played And Yet It Moves, but VVVVVV? Yes please!)

VVVVVV apparently has some new content as well, most notably 10 new levels and a level editor.

Sweet!

EDIT: Also, it's been ported from Flash to "proper" C++ now and thus doesn't store your progress in the Flash cookies that get regularly wiped by using your browser's privacy options...

Signs you own too many games on Steam - when you buy the pack and go to import the key into Steam, it says you own all the games, yet you never remembered buying one of them. Not saying that I didn't realize I didn't own Hammerfight and have never played it or anything...

But in all seriousness, it's a great pack with good exclusives (Like early access to the VVVVVV 2.0 patch, which is apparently coming to Steam anyways).

I already owned 3 of the games, VVVVVV, Cogs and And yet it moves (the best ones, I would say), but I bought it anyway.

I had played Crayon Physics with a friend and although the game mechanics seemed original at the beginning a got bored in the end, since you end up doing the same strategies to solve the puzzles.
Maybe it was my fault for not "trying to be creative", but the game didn't push me one bit to be it.

I tried a demo of Hammerfight (but I remember it being a long time ago) and I think I got wrist pain because of the attacking mouse motion or got very tired of it.
Has anyone played it? Has this improved?

For those of you doubting, VVVVVV and Cogs are must-haves, IMO. Go for them!

Hammerfight is a lot of fun and a great concept, it's just really hard. And I mean really hard. Even the early levels are brutal.

I found it a lot easier when I figured out which weapon was the broken overpowered one, but even then, yeah, it's not messing around.

It's just viscerally great smashing open a flying machine with a giant pickaxe.

"Humble Bonus: everyone who buys the bundle gets to play Minecraft for free until August 14th."
Eh...don't know how many people would care about this but I thought I'd post and mention it anyway. The game looks interesting.

Edit: Oh yeah, as for Hammerfight, I've played it and it seems like I'm not able to move anywhere near as quickly and fluidly as I should be (or as the trailer shows). Maybe I'm not calibrating the mouse correctly? Or maybe I'm just that bad.

When you calibrate, make TINY goddamn mouse movements. The lower you can get the DPI, the more fun the game will be.

Thanks, Banjooie. I got the DPI down to 300 and that helped a bit. I'm still not very good though. ;)

Even in this millennium you can use PayPal without a credit card in Switzerland, as far as I know - just use a regular bank transaction to, errr, "upload" money to your PayPal account and buy the Humble Bundle with that...

But yeah, having no credit card in this day and age? That's just savage... :P

Hammerfight was the game I was least excited about going into the bundle but ended up as one of my favorite in the pack.

It's also worth noting that if you donate over the average you get everything in the second bundle as well. Don't worry, as of now the average is disgracefully low.

Just a small question: do i need steam for this or is this playable on PC without anything else?

It seems that Hammerfight's site has it available for purchase only through Steam, but after purchasing the Humble Bundle, the bundle download page has a link for a standalone Hammerfight application.
And in case you're asking about all the games in the bundle and not specifically Hammerfight, none of them have required Steam.

Also, Atom Zombie Smasher has been added to the bundle.

Thanks. I just wanted to know if I need to have steam to buy it. I somehow always thought it was some steam only sale :P

It's totally DRM free. Buying it on not-Steam actually gives you a Steam key as well in case you want to check out the achievements.

You know what annoys me about the bundle? That I have half the games and can't direct my money toward the other half. I mean, And Yet It Moves is cool and all, but I already got it out of the holiday sales and I'm buying it for V*6 and the EFF.

Pay more than the average price and they'll throw in the entire Frozenbyte Bundle (basically Trine, Shadowgrounds, and Shadowgrounds: Survivor).

You know, when I hear about a game bundle I tend to think of it involving, by default, more than one game. Kind of like how it's not a bundle of sticks if there's only one stick, even if you wrap the stick in cloth.
