Pretty please: I guess the platforms must be shipped to the right, but how do I make the guy to step on switch?

thank you for fast hint. As I got the picture of what I should do but I still was not able to do it, please take a look at my list:
1. I do not know why but first I let the citizen to step onto solid ground at 8,15
2. I use both platforms to get to the right, leaving one there and going back to pick up citizen
3.Citizen goes to the bank he wanted to go and I take the platform back to the right so now citizen is waiting.
4. Once I connect platforms citizen makes run toward me so I spin sword for a minute or so and restart room, because I cant find the way to let him go past me
Are all these steps false?
