Well it seems that no matter which way this gel is cut, there will always be a gel baby inside the black door, inaccessible.

There must be a trick I am missing?

If you consider that you finish cutting gel this way, I think you'll find a correct place to leave last gel blob.

That is what I was going for, but I always end up with a baby that can't be reached. Or I end up in this situation.
