×Number the plates, and write how many times you have to visit every plate. Work your way backwards to the begining. Write a numbered path to follow as you progress through the graph paper. Doing this, and always making sure I could get back to plates I had to re-visit I solved the room rather quickly.
I can usually get about three-quarters of the way when doing this, but the problem always arises where there aren't enough paths in between plates to make all the necessary trips.
