(I don't have enough mod points (I only have 7 as of now) to mod up everyone who posted here by 1, as seems to be the tradition in most birthday threads.)
Anyway, I had a good celebration at home with my family. I requested and received a birthday dinner of salmon, yellow rice and broccoli, which was delicious. The yellow cake with honey and vanilla frosting was also good, and will make for good leftover dessert later.
You are all probably interested in what I received, as I posted earlier in a Christmas thread.
* A pair of nice computer headphones (The ones I was wearing earlier were very old, worn, and somewhat mechanically broken, used for about 5 or 6 years.) These are comfortable and I am wearing them now.
* Some keyboard and computer equipment cleaning putty (Guilty as charged)
* The compiled Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy series (a 5 in 1 book containing the five novels)
* A copy of
Goedel, Escher, Bach
* A slide rule (Major geek points for this one)
Overall, turning 17 went well. I am looking forward to the future, where I shall have finished high school and maybe will be able to drive an automobile in the presence of other cars without panicking too much.
