Any hints on how to access the hard mode area for the Express Delivery level on ST1?

I think you have to activate the bottommost star trigger in the room with the brown transmuters. I'm not sure anymore, since I've long since lost the player file where I beat the level--or at least gotten into the area.

I knew that, but I guess it's my fault for not specifying otherwise. :P

Well, what I know for sure about this level:
Objects:
Rock/Diamond
Egg/Diamond (if crushed)
Diamond/Emerald
Yellow/Green key
Mine/Diamond
Ruby/Red key
Emerald/Rock
Red Key/Yellow Key
Quantum Rock/Emerald
Orb
Bomb (seemingly unusable)

There are 7 or 8 keys, depending on whether or not the ruby gets transmuted.

There are also two yellow doors, a green and a red. That means that you can safely take up to two red, three yellow, one blue, and two green keys, without messing anything up. Compared with the number of possible keys above, that makes me think the ruby must be transmuted (or collected, either way).

The conveyor belts seem unimportant to the puzzle. However, it is possible to push the rock in the start of room 2 into room 1 and not block anything.

Quite... puzzling. ;)

I could tell you more, but radiant will probably tell me off for giving this much away.:D

In return, I'd like someone to tell me how to get to the hard exit in Balloons & Spikes. :D

Argh! I was so very close to getting it. I can't remember exactly what I was doing, but I ended up with the orb blocking the first star instead of rolling over. Actually, I think I had it work correctly the one time, but I never thought to block it with a yellow key.

Regarding Balloons and Spikes, the hard mode of it is called Play it by Ear. If you didn't know, that means you have to

I can't remember the exact combination at the moment, though.

Just gonna throw this out here for some of the harder levels: Draw a diagram of the puzzle! I find that quite a few levels are hard to do mentally, and that drawing a diagram will help you organize the logic and flow of the puzzle much better.

I've been doing this to solve Cell Block.
It's been sorta working, but I still got a long way to go before completing it. :P

When it comes to solving the tutorial levels on hard, I'm not doing too bad.
I've Done:
The Basics;
Special Walls;
Crates and Explosives;
More Movable Blocks;
Enemies Revisited;
Transport and Transform(Also known as Express Delivery);
Balloons and Spikes ( Thanks Danjen);
Hindrances;
Rubies and Lasers;
Special Actions.

I know how to get to the secret rooms in:
Rocks and Gems;
Elementary;
Bombs and Mines;
Enemies;
More Falling Things;
Blocks and Elements.

That leaves me with one: Trap, Clone, Teleport.
I cant seem to get this one, no matter what I do I cant get through the teleporter.

Could anyone give me a point in the right direction?

You have to block portals so that you exit a portal from the west. This involves using the green switch in room 3 to move the crates around the room.

Oh, and regarding Elementary, for those kind of levels, you have to just figure where and when you use tools. I find it helps to work backwards. For example, you need the yellow key to get to the exit, but to get back into the hard room, you need the boots. So, to get the key without losing the boots, you need dynamite to blow up the munchkin in room 4, and to get the dynamite, you need the red key, etc...

And regarding my progress, I've done:
Basics
Rocks and Gems
Special Walls
Elementary
Bombs and Mines
Crates and Explosives
More Movable Blocks
Enemies Revisited
Transport and Transform
Blocks and Elements
Balloons and Spikes

Enemies (Weaver): This is is what's been giving me the most trouble. I'm sure there is a very simple trick to it. If anyone wants to give me a hint for it would help. I have a feeling I have to enter the spot to get the red key from the top, but I'm not sure.

More Falling Things: I could probably get the crate part solved on my own (with a lot of effort), but I can't remember how to enter the area without using up the yellow key. I vaguely remember seeing something about dropping a rock somewhere.

Hindrances: I have absolutely no idea how to get into the secret room. I think I have to somehow get the rock from the skull room and drop it onto the cracked wall.

Rubies and Lasers: I know how to solve this one, just haven't gotten around to it.

Trap, Clone, Teleport: Can access the hard room. Have not attempted the puzzle within.

Special Actions: Not sure how to access the hard room. I know you have to destroy the easy exit (surprise! :P) to release a skelwing... I think the second stick of dynamite is used to kill it, but then I'm not sure how to get the extinguisher to pass into the fire.

Hmm, I must have triggered something.
the name of all the tutorial levels just changed.
that would explain the difference between the names of my levels and danjens.
I thought it was just a version difference or something.
I notice that the new names correlate to the secret rooms, not really to the rest of the level.

with More Falling Things, you'll notice that you don't need all the gems in the stone. that should help.
I can't do this level because I can never get the key in time.

with Hindrances, try forgetting about the cracked wall for a bit, play as if you were going for easy.

with Special Actions, I know what your problem is.
it's the same one as with More Falling Things.
you try to play hard-mode like easy with extras.

try getting into the hard room before anything else.
once you know how to get in, and how many gems you need, you can cut your easy plan back to fit your hard-plan.

No, I don't play hard this way, at least not intentionally. I realize that the method for completion sometimes requires very different methods to complete.

Regarding the difference in names, each tutorial has an alternate name for hard mode. So you get The Basics on easy, and Secret One on hard, etc.

I'm always 8 gems short in Special Actions, the ones in room two. I can access the hard mode and get to the exit, just short on gems :(

Also, I had no idea that for hindrances, a cyrobird was blocked by a toll sign and would open the way for you. Curse you, semi-obscure game mechanics!

Edit: Also, on the level Too Many Gems, is there any significance to the two pieces of cracked wall on the left, where all the gems are?

Edit 2: Down to just Weaver and Combination Lock. My total stands at 85 hard solved. :D

Edit 3: www... Radiant, did you add those extending walls in Laser Maze? Now it's impossible to exploit the falling emeralds for points. :(

It should be easy if you draw it out. You know what your route is going to be, and how often it crosses itself; now the only thing you have to do is align those crossings with the empty places on the screen.

Edit: Also, on the level Too Many Gems, is there any significance to the two pieces of cracked wall on the left, where all the gems are?
No :) That's just quirkiness on the part of the level designer.

Yep. Sorry, I don't like infinite point bugs. It amazed me how few there actually were in ST Prime.

Now that you mention it, that was pretty much the only bug I ever found. No crashes. No impossible levels... Actually, I believe in one of the earlier versions, if you beat a secret level, the one on the previous row would be unlocked, whether or not you found the hidden exit to get to it.

Finally finished the tutorial levels! :D

Getting back to the topic of the thread, on the level Calculus (I'll figure out how these calculator-type levels work one day! :glasses), I obviously have to drop the rocks to correspond with a number... How do I determine what "number" I have to use?
Edit: Nevermind, I figured it out! Top row is binary and the two inputs are multiplied together.

On the hidden level Shifting Sands, is this level script based as opposed to object based? Even if I give myself 99 dynamite and blow some walls up, they will come right back. No other level in the game has this kind of behavior.

For whatever reason, the tutorial levels have two names; one's for the hard mode, the other for the easy mode. This is probably because Radiant has deemed it so.

Here's a copy of my player.cfg for the highscores.

I'm just 2,100 points shy of your score Radiant. I wanted to pass you, but I don't know if I have the patience to go through all the levels again just to get slightly higher scores ...

Edit: It would probably help if I attached it. :|
