OK, I'll start the ball rolling.

Nobard's Hold does not (yet!) use any very ambitious custom monsters; I just use them to give myself more options for creating monsters of different strengths, and particularly for creating additional monsters with behaviours that give rise to interesting strategical decisions, like "Goblin weakness" or "Attack in front with back turned".

I'll post all my custom monsters here, except bosses. Anyone is welcome to use these, without giving credit. (I like the fact that we have a common "pool" of monsters, e.g. you can expect an Evil Eye in one hold to always have the same stats and behaviour as an Evil Eye in another hold. It would be nice if we could extend this common pool by using each other's monsters.)

EDIT: removed ones that have already been transferred to the first post

Plenty more coming! I won't post them until I've got up to where they appear in building the hold, though, as I will set appropriate stats at that point.

It's like the Elixir in Tower of the Sorceror: it gives a one-off boost to HP that varies depending on your levels of ATK and DEF. The idea being that if you can optimise well enough so that you don't need it until later when your ATK and DEF are higher, you get more out of it.

Here's a script of Slayer-like monster behaviour(first, it determines your sword location when you enter a room, then starts to turn it when you do). It's ctrl-b friendly version.

I've called it "Elite guard"(since it doesn't fully copy slayer's behaviour(yet)).

WARNING! Works incorrectly when player hasn't sword.

EDIT: see Nuntar's variant of this script in lower post - it works normally.

Anyway, here's something simplier. It's a script of, let's say, some kind of "mage" who upgrades(or deupgrades) your DEF basing on your current HP. So, here the script goes(a ctrl-b friendly version, of course):

I can see that leading to some interesting optimisation decisions! (Note: for anyone reading this: what mxvladi's script does is replace your base DEF, i.e. your DEF ignoring the bonus granted by your shield, by 1/16 of your HP. A variant adding to your DEF would also be easy to make, although in that case you would certainly want to use a smaller fraction than 1/16.) It would be optimal to leave as many DEF gems as you could until after using the mage, and contrariwise, to grab all the potions you could find to get your DEF as high as possible -- if you got it high enough you wouldn't need any potions ever again! ;) (In fact, you'd have to be careful with this. Let someone like Blondbeard get his hands on it and you're talking a minimum of 500 base DEF, without even taking into account what he gets from the shield. That's high enough to not be hurt by almost anything in the game.)

I've also created the raptor egg and raptor mother, ape man and chamelion... no scripts complete yet!

Chaos Sword.

Designed to cut through briar and through enemy defense; its powers ward off oremite as well, but the disadvantage is each stab at a monster will cost you 50 HP. High cost? Its attack is 150, the price is yours to decide to pay or not.

Included in the .rar is the tiles for the sword and the Neutral tile in case anybody wishes to make a separate entity to put it as a sword on the floor.

New Mimic for RPG.
Posting script soon, it takes the exact amount of HP, ATK and DEF that the player has... it also doubles gold when beaten. :D
...However you need special moves to beat it! :?

The Necroblade:
At first, when you see this blade, you may dismiss it as a briar hacker that give 5 DEF, and does double damage to goblins and snakes. However, when you first attack a monster or pick up a health potion, you will be proved wrong. Dead wrong.
When starting a battle, the Necroblade will heal you by 20% of the monster's HP. Also, when you collect a health potion, it won't heal you, and instead the Necroblade will give you ATK and DEF equal to 10% of the potion's healing power.
I personally swear by this sword, but that may just be me. Graphics not provided (because I like it as a briar hacker), so it will look like a chest on the ground (why it doesn't default to the briar hacker drop graphic I haven't a clue).

I don't know if anyone cares anymore, but there's an even easier way to have a character face the opposite way a player's facing.
It's 'Set var "_MyO" = 8 - _O'. :)

A powerful weapon, will rip straight through enemy armor, briars, and oremites unfortunate enough to latch onto the weapon. The problem is, it eats up fuel like no other, and its fuel is your health. 10 health for 100 ATK, so make sure to avoid backtracking at all costs.

Rock mace tileset. A weapon that isn't a sword! It's not metal either, so you can trash your wooden sword when you find this Short Sword equivalent weapon.

Speed boots, accessory, gives you first strike even when unsworded, and gives you enough speed to cut through enemy defense before they even see you coming. Very valuable.

If it's here, it's here for the taking. The boots took me about 20 minutes to make, the mace maybe a bit more since I had to make the angled version and the straight, for the different directions.

Note this script is a Global script. The monster script used further up is the scaling Swamp Roach from Knight's Honor, and there's still a major flaw in it but for now it's working good.

Seems to me you've used a lot of lines calculating the ATK and DEF of the player's current equipment, when there are already variables (_WeaponATK and _ArmorDEF) that tell you this.
