Hello everyone,

I just downloaded ATOTK and I've been wondering what program(s) the creators used to make the backgrounds, portraits, and sprites. I think they did a fantastic job! :thumbsup

Thanks in advance.

I don't know, but here is a list of programs that are (Mostly) Good.
http://www.adventuregamestudio.co.uk/
I haven't used all of them, but I've tried blender and the GIMP, and they were quite satisfactory.

hope that helps.

I used Photoshop CS2 for background and sprite graphics. Others may have used MSPaint for sprites, and I can't remember what was used for making portraits. But the same results can be replicated in a program like GIMP, as wonkyth has mentioned.

Thank you wonkyth and fizzii for your replies. You both mentioned GIMP as a good program to use, but unfortunately, GIMP is not compatible with my computer (I can only use Windows 98). Have you ever used Corel Draw and Corel Photo Paint 8 for graphics? Or heard about someone else's experience with these two programs? I have been using these two for years so I kind of know them inside out and I am hoping to use them for backgrounds, sprites, and portraits. Tell me what you guys think, thanks!

Maybe you could get an older version of the GIMP.
actually, I don't think you can get gimp to run on windows 98.

nope, haven't tried coral, and I don't know anyone who uses it.
generally, if you can create or edit an image with it, you can draw sprites, backgrounds etc.

Corel Photo Paint is decent. It should be good for your purposes.

The GIMP site says that older versions (eg 2.0) may work on Win95.
