This game is an experiment I came up with that explores the concept of what a team is. What would happen if during a game, due its design, your teammates were forced to work against each other? I'm predicting a lot of outside-of-the-box collusion.
I'd like to try this out with 12-15 players if at all possible, but any amount greater than 6 or 7 should make the game interesting. Please reply if you'd like to play!

The Circle Rules

×Setup:
At the start of the game, all players are randomly arranged in a circle. Each player starts the game at 15 HP with no maximum HP limit.
In the circle, you are connected to two other players (the first standing one step clockwise from you, the other standing one step counter-clockwise from you). These are your teammates. The other two players connected to your two teammates are your enemies.
Note: This means that your two teammates are enemies with eachother!
Your current teammates and enemies will change over the course of the game. Be sure to re-evaluate who your teammates and enemies are whenever connections are severed or re-established.
How to win:
Be the only player in the game with two teammates and zero enemies, that is, be the center of the only triplet.
Gameplay:
This is a simultaneous move game. Each round plays in five phases.
Phase 1 - Orders
On the schedule that we determine, players will PM me their actions for the round. For each action, the player will have a choice between:
Attack any player except self (-2HP)
Heal any player except self (+1HP)
For each round, each player still in the game will submit two actions. A PM to myself may look like the following:
Round 1
Action 1 - Attack player A
Action 2 - Heal player B
If I haven't received your orders within the alloted time, it is assumed that you attack each of your enemies once. If you have only one enemy, I'll assume that you attack it twice.
Upon completion of a round, everybody's orders will be publicly revealed.
Phase 2 - Healing
Once all orders have been received, I will calculate the results. All healing actions will be enacted first.
Phase 3 - Attacking
After healing has been calculated, I will calculate all of the attacks. Since this is a simultaneous move game, it is possible to deal a killing blow on the same turn that you get killed.
Phase 4 - Deaths
After damage has been calculated, all players with 0 or fewer HP will die and their connections in the circle will be severed. The circle does not close at this point, so it is possible that players will have fewer than 2 teammates and/or fewer than 2 enemies. For example, if the teammate to your right dies, the enemy to your right is no longer an enemy.
Phase 5 - Closing the Circle
After players have been eliminated, the following rules will be enforced in order to determine whether or not the circle will close.
1. If breaks in the circle result in at least one unbroken chain of exactly three players (a triplet), all players not currently in such a triplet will be eliminated. The circle will close inward and connections will be reformed, resulting in some players having new teammates and enemies.
1a. If there is exactly one triplet, the center of the triplet (who has two teammates and zero enemies) is the winner of the game.
2. If there are any players with zero teammates, they are eliminated. The circle does not close after this step.
3. If there are any unbroken chains of exactly two players (a doublet), all players in doublets gain 5HP. The circle closes inward and connections are reformed.
After Phase 5 is complete, the round is over and a new round begins. I will supply updated information, including a picture of the current circle.
Note: It is very possible that the circle has not closed after completion of a round. Always be aware that who your teammates and enemies are depends on the status of connections within the circle.
Special cases:
In the special case where only two players remain after a round, the player with the most health is declared a winner. If it is a tie, then both players declare a draw.
In the special case where zero players remain after a round, the match is considered a draw between all players who entered the round.
If you have any questions or if there's anything that needs clarifying, please let me know. I'll be excited to see how this plays out!
