One of the great things about this hold is that even when you know the trick, the rooms become possible, but don't just roll over and play dead. they're still pretty tricky, anyway

If someone complains, I'll remove the spoiler. I'm kind of reluctant to leave it up, but...it has been two years, as Banjooie said. Sometimes it seems kind of silly to still be all hush-hush about it after all this time. But new people are still discovering it.

I guess it seems to me that if we removed direct spoilers in the God Tower thread, and that barely belongs on this forum, then direct spoilers shouldn't be here either. But it's Christmas night and I want to get to sleep so I'm not going to worry about it right now. :P

I thought that this sort of thing was the intended purpose of the secret tag. The forum rules do not give any such restriction on spoilers. The contents are declared clearly. Why should I not post it?

Perhaps because the author did not want it to be spoiled? At least that's what I had understood.

Note that I've figured the "trick" on my own. I was actually glad back then that people with much less willpower than you (i.e. me) did not had the opportunity to view the answer.

But, thank you very much, from all the people that has less willpower than you have.

Well, it's been two years. And we /do/ spoil how to beat particular rooms (Hints and Solutions, anyone?), so the fact it's finally come up isn't really that bad a thing.

Some things are just too secret for the secret tags to be worth it. We wouldn't reveal something about TCB and assume that just because it was under the secret tag that those who didn't want to be spoiled wouldn't see it eventually.

Also, there are exceptions to every rule, and things like this are up to the discretion of the mods/admins, or even to a popular vote. That's why I brought it up.

So, I'm a very new user, and downloaded this one because it was rated so highly. I figured out the *TRICK*, but I still can't beat the goblin room (6S). I can thin the herd down to just 3 goblins, and figure that I need to use the obstruction to get at the rest, but I just can't make it work.

I should note that I've only just started on JtRH, and haven't actually fought any goblins yet -- so I haven't developed any goblin-related strategies. Help would be appreciated.

(Note: I couldn't post this to the Hints & Solutions forum, because when I picked 'The Fool's Errand' as the hold, it didn't load the map...)
