How do I remove the tar blocking the top two orbs? I can seem to clear only one path but not both.

When looking for hints in King Dugan's Dungeon 2.0, you should always look through the hints for the original King Dugan's Dungeon first. All the non-secret rooms are exactly the same.

In this case, you'll find that there are already 11 hints topics for this room. If none of them help, please add your question to one of those.
