And, after careful deliberation, the results are in.
Unfortunately, Monkey was disqualified due to only submitting one answer per question, and those 8 answers were not included in the calculations.
Firstly, an analysis of the answers given:

Apple 21
Tomato 5
Cherry 4
Pomegranate 4
Strawberry 4
Dragonfruit 2
Raspberry 1
Tamarillo 1
Cranberry 1
Rowanberry 1
Salmonberry 1
Chilli pepper 1
Blood Oranges 1
Invalid answers:
Radish (vegetable, not fruit)
'My precious red fruit'
Richard Simmons
Apple not surprisingly came out on top, with several people finding a unique red fruit. A least common answer of tomato, hoping other people would forget it was a fruit, turned out to be a bad idea.

C 1
Invalid answers:
Round( Rand(0,1) x 10 )
This isn't a number - its a formula. It may give a number when evaluated, but its not a number.
The idea of 'everyone always picks 7' worked here, being the most common answer. Surprisingly, only one person picked 9.
The answer of 'C', lying between 1 and 10 in hexadecimal, was dubiously allowed to pass.

Indonesia 13
Italy 9
Iraq 9
India 5
Iceland 5
Ivory Coast 3
Israel 3
Iran 1
Invalid answers:
Ithaca - it's not actually a country. It is an island in Greece, and a legally distinct town, but not a country.
Islandia - it asked for a country, not something imaginary
I feel sorry for Indonesia, as virtually everyone picked 'Italy' as most common and 'Indonesia' as least common, causing a big drop in score for many people. Iran was forgotten by most.

The 'eyes' have it - with all of the answers to pick from, 'nostrils' was a surprisingly common option picked as the 'least common' item.

Invalid answers:
The month when Frogs and Mice will be released (not specific)
I debated over 'Septenber', but it is a month of a year, after all.
May, being the current month, was not surprisingly the most common.

Possibly the hardest to judge, I accepted answers if googling for (animal) pet led to useful results, which let all answers through. Some pretty interesting household pets, however.

These are both acronyms, not words.
Some interesting words here, but skiing was a standout popular answer.
And now for the provisional results.
Coming in third place is
captainzakku, with a score of
70.
captainzakku scored the highest of all contestants in the most popular section with 104 points, but a 'joke' answer for the fruit cost him 21 valuable points and first place.
In second place is
Doom, who scored an impressive 103 points with his most common answers, ending up with
74 points overall thanks in part to being a victim of the 'Indonesia' answer.
And first place goes to
krammer, with a very consistent performance, losing no more than 6 points for each of his least common answers for a final score of
77.
Lastly, commiserations to VIPCOOL, who was the only competitor to fall into the negatives.

Thanks everyone for participating - very interesting indeed. I think the most common section alone would have made for some interesting results.
