I just solved this room, and on checking the advice in the hint threads afterwards (I always solve on my own but like to see how others did it) I noticed that I seem to have made it harder than it should be. So I have a challenge to do the most interesting part of my solution:

C h a l l e n g e !

With the mimic at (1) and Beethro at (2), set him free by using the mimic to hit the orb at (3) - interesting as Beethro is trapped in a very small box. I had the door at (4) dropped by this point - if you can do it without so much the better!

Wow... not quite optimised then

I haven't completed this challenge, but seems possible even with (4) up.
