I feel like I'm being overly didactic here...but "225" didn't exist at the beginning of the universe. The symbols came around at some point after humans did.

The quantity existed, but not the representation.

I love splitting mathematical hairs (or atoms).

He didn't say he lived as long as 225, but as the square root of 225. The square root of 225 is a mathematical constant, and as such, must have always existed. Whether you choose to represent it as "15" or as "3x5" or as "1+2+3+4+5" or using a square root sign over 225 or by the string "fifteen" is irrelevant - the referant of all those expressions is the same and it is eternal.

(You may be a mathematician, but I am a semanticist, and issues of reference are my bread and butter).

Well I'm 50+. It was my eldest son who first started playing webfoot DROD when he must have been 5 (about 10 years ago) and my youngest son was creating holds in AE when he was 5, so that would push the lower end of the scale down a bit - although neither are on the forum

In the "How old are you?" thread from 3-4 years ago, squeekie was 53. So he should be at 57-58 now, but he hasn't posted in a while.

Reply to calamarain, no I'm not, but I was advertising that my kids started when 5 (or possibly less, I can't remember. Not quite the same as the thread, perhaps a different one on who started at the youngest age.

I was surprised to see this topic. I wondered about the age of some of the forum members. I am an active player and can say that I am well over 60. If that gives me the prize, I'm not sure I want it. I have been very impressed with the help I have received from most forum members. Everyone has been very courteous as well. I love DROD and have been playing actively for 1 1/2 or 2 years.

Hmmmm... technically, I can claim 48 years of drodding experience at one point

My boyfriend at the time (23) and me (25) both played DROD at the same time - him handling the numpad keys, me handling QW.

So technically, there was 48 years of drod going on at once...
