Of all time? Like, ever?
Well, DROD does come very close. There's just so much in it, so much depth to explore... Around 75 official levels and counting.
But my all-time favorite game ever would probably have to be Cubivore (GC). If you haven't already, I highly suggest that you head to a local Generic Video Rental Store and check it out. It's probably the best action/adventure game I've ever played, but then again, my video game choices are eccentric at best.

The DooM series all the way. I never get bored killing insanely hard demons with a pistol.

Edit: That said, the Cyberdemon, if you're able to circle-strafe, is a pansy.

Ediit: Metroid is close, though.

Mine is, (aside from Drod) Dungeon Siege II. It's about 30 times the fun when you play it with cheats.

#1 is Stepmania (Or DDRs altogether)
#2 is DROD

But at the moment, I'm more into DROD than Stepmania .
I actually never liked Sonic, any 2D Sonic (Never played one in 3D). It was too chaotic to me.

I am bumping this old thread because I recently discovered Hidden Object Adventures.

Back in the day, I used to love text adventures even though I was never very good at them.

Hidden Object Adventures are sort of like text adventure games combined with find the object hidden in the picture games.

The best ones I have found are by Anuman and present a story. I also liked the three Snark Busters games by Alawar.

It is possible to overdo the hidden object factor of these games.
If I have to use the hint button for every object to be found, I lose interest.

The games I have played don't take a lot of time to play through, taking only about four hours from start to finish. Of course, your mileage may vary.
