There's a chance that that wasn't caught by the update Radiant did to properly name units in news events.

Did you have random events on?

Of course, where would the fun be without the plague? :cool

One thing: I may not have the latest version, I cant remember...

Whenever I start a one player game against two opponents, one of them always conks out in the first turn or two, and the other dies a year or two in, often before I've even found there home base.
I seem to remember seeing a bug like this reported, but I cant remember. Again.

:P

Please do not post bug reports in this thread unless you have the latest version. If you have an older version, it is quite likely that whatever you're reporting has already been fixed.

Yeah, Sorry about that, I only recently realised that I might not.

What's the current version? The tool-tip that pops up over the .exe says that mine is v 2.0.0.0

I found an odd bug, but due to its nature, I can't give much info.
I was playing as regency just now, and at the beginning of a turn it tells me that the locals just lynched a Colonist of mine.
However, I didn't have any Colonists at the time...
I've had similar bugs, and just as weird if not weirder. A few times I've gotten a message saying that one of my units was killed by the enemy population, even though I have no units in any enemy city.

I've even gotten messages saying that a unit that my current race can't even produce was killed by the enemy population. For example, one time it said one of my werewolves had been killed; however, I wasn't playing as Theria (I think it was Humans or Elves), and thus far no werewolves had come up for hire as mercenaries.

Radiant - I'd post a saved game showing this, but I've long since overwritten any game where this has happened. I also have a tendency to ignore this bug, as it seems to be more of a minor nuisance.

Could it possibly be informing you of what happened to an enemy's unit?

Yes, it's the most probable from the programmer's point of view.

InfromPlayer(Event) => if (IsHuman) {InfromPlayer(Event)}

No, it would seem to be a pointer error.

Regardless, according to my notes this was fixed for RC2, which was released October 5th. I'm sure people have seen this in the past, but can anyone confirm that it actually occurs in RC2? Preferably with a saved game?

If it still occurs in RC2, I've not yet seen it. Those messages rarely show anyways, but the times it has, has been correct; I'll playtest it some more when I get a chance.

Could you fix the bug? The game is totally unplayable. Stupid battles with unknown armies, endless "waiting for other wizard" and so on. The version I played a year ago was much more stable.

Load save game, end turn.

Sorry.

What is your screen resolution?

Radiant:
1) Again, I'm not sure what you mean. Is the game hanging when you quit? If so, please tell us your system specs.

Yes, the screen is black and game hangs.
1024*768, 32bits, GeForce 7300 GT
Windows XP Professional Edition, Service Pack 2

I do not understand what you mean.
Select any unit. Then try to view info about any enemy unit using right mouse button click. The game will automatically choose your next unit. The same effect as if you manually press "next unit".

Great game - I've missed playing a good fantasy 4x.

Unfortunately, I am getting lockups pretty regularly (every 5-10m of play). I have to use task manager to kill the app. Huge random map, human.

Using the latest build (I think), text reads Oct 5.

Running on Win 7, AMD Athlon 64 X2 4200, Nvidia GeForce 8400GS.

I've tried running compatibility mode Xp and Vista - any suggestions along these lines?

Thanks, and I look forward to further development of this excellent title.

That is odd... do you have a save game that displays this behavior? Usually a lockup is caused by game logic and can be reproduced in that way.

Another bug. No buildings in building list for the right player, corruption - 100%. Nearly impossible to play splitscreen.

Author, do you have more stable version?

How to dispel astral void in splitscreen mode? Sorry, but cannot imagine spell more idiotic. When someone casts it I finish the game.

Do you mean Call the Void? It's a chaos spell, so there's a good chance it'll hurt you both. You should be able to Major Cancellation it, however.

I cast Major Cancellation. Select target. Target can only be a town or a unit group. What should I do? And even if I could stop it, it will have already killed half of the map. Very interesting...

You should also be able to cast Major Canc on opposing wizards.

However, to remove your own spell, go to the mirror screen and click on it.

And yes, being self-destructive is pretty much the nature of chaos magic. If this bothers you, pick the other spheres instead.

1) How?
2) I don't know, who exactly casted this SuperSpell
3) Half of map is covered with astral void. Is it funny?

Could you include in next releases option to turn on/off this spell?

Lockup on combat with blade singer. The save is pretty much right before the combat, so just end turn to reproduce (hopefully).

Edit: Apparently it's not the combat, something else. I've moved troops so that the combat doesn't happen and still get a lockup.

Why?
Removing this spell would unbalance the need to uphold strength in both might and magic, and that would ultimately turn it into luck.
If the computer is using it, then figure out how to counter it.
Several ways come to mind:

Stop them from casting the spell.
If I've chosen three Mind spheres, then you can learn CounterMagic, which is not only useful for stopping them from casting spells, but is also great for keeping tabs on their magical activity.

Get a strong foothold in the centre of the map, thereby delaying the consequences.

You could also try crippling their mana supply by finding their most sorcerly cities and capturing with hidden Calvary, then you can either destroy the city, or you can try and hold it, and after a few turns their mana will be yours.
Without serious investment into spells, they wont be achieving much.

You should also take a look at Aether Sense.

I noticed that a couple of the race narrators have been made into heroes as well. So far I have seen Song of Eighteen Raindrops and Silthar Moonleaf. I'm wondering, are there any more? If not, I would really like to see Regulus Arthinum IV and Gleam-Like-Fish become heroes.
Also, do certain heroes have a higher change of showing up? I seem to get roughly the same ones each time.
