Greetings wanderer, and welcome to Maze Nineteen!
Do you have the courage to enter this treacherous cavern?
Do you have the strength to defeat the creatures inside?
Do you have the intelligence to escape?

What's that? You have a ball of string and a bag of breadcrumbs? Certainly, certainly, you may take them in with you. Unfortunately you will find them of little use.

==

This hold consists of one walk-through maze. This style of maze was invented by Robert Abbott, whose work you can find on his Logic Mazes website.

I had dabbled with this maze structure previously and when Ezlo ran the 'Labyrinth of Mellenfral' contest, I decided to do a large version and fill it with monsters. This hold was my entry to the contest.

The individual rooms vary in difficulty from fairly easy to a little tricky.

I hope you have fun playing the hold.

I spent a pleasant evening playing through this small hold. :)

Lots of variety with nothing too difficult or tricky... but be sure to have a pen and paper handy. I tried the breadcrumbs trick, but the monsters gobbled them right up! :-O

Pretty much as described by architect. Fun, not too difficult hold.

A nice set of rooms, followed by a good maze puzzle. Enjoyable.

(I'm still working on the secret room, though.)

I give it a 7 for fun and 4 brains.

Josh

Agreed. I give it 8 ounces of fun mixed with 5 brains.

(I'm still working on the secret room, though.)
Yeah, that one is brutal (if unrequired) - it took me just 3000-and-a-bit turns to solve... :|

Next to the door leading out of the secret room there are two orbs, and only one of them opens more than one door in the room. This can give the impression that one is stuck.

Great small hold with not-too-tricky rooms. One day of fun. Secret room gave me tons of headache and immense satisfaction upon completion~

Conquered! I liked this hold alot. Interesting puzzles with mixed themes wrapped up in a difficult maze. :thumbsup

In the end, I think the maze was even harder than most of the puzzles. I needed a self-drawn map to get out of it. Because this hold was a lot of fun and because of the ingenious maze, I'll give it an 8 and 6 brains for difficulty.

While none of the rooms in the maze were too difficult, the maze required great thought and that secret room was a killer. After conquering it in more than 3000 moves, I can only genuflect before the efficiency god that is Rabscuttle.

This is a decent little hold based around a maze, none of the puzzles are particularly original but then they're not too difficult either. All the rooms are consistently designed, and I liked the map in the middle of each room.

Getting out of the maze was a bit more troublesome, and I had to resort to scribbling it out in mspaint to solve it as trial-and-error was not proving successful.

There's also a secret room which some people might find a bit frustrating...

My Verdict:

Difficulty: 5.5
Fun: 7
