It would be nice to be able to see one's rank easily without having to parse all the high score pages manually (if you're not on the first page). This is especially true for new players who would enjoy optimising a lot more, but don't really realise a points system is in place (took me a fair while before realising it myself)...

I would personally like to see this on the front page, but within Profile or in the Caravel tab would be great too.

Unless, that is, I'm missing a trick?

I concur.

I also think it'd be most amusing if, at particular point totals, you were given a little badge for your smitemastery, which is a different sort of rank, admittedly but I wanted to say something other than 'yesplz'.

Not to mention it takes ages for the high scores page to be generated, which obviously also stresses the server a lot.

I would have said it would make sense putting your rank on your profile page, but I wonder if that wouldn't produce even more load depending on how often profile pages are viewed...

Maybe caching the current high scores for some time (15 minutes?) before re-evaluating them could improve things here?

The load should be very small, considering one run updates all profiles at once. And of course, it doesn't have to be current, so 15 minutes give or take accuracy is more than enough.

Personally, whenever I go to the high score page, the first thing I'd want to see is my own score. I'd expect that's the typical expectation.
