Just wondering if anyone else is having issues receiving Caravel keys? I remember this being mentioned a week ago or so, but don't remember reading a resolution.

Basically, I'm not receiving one after clicking on "Request new key".

There may also be a bug regarding using 2 players & 2 Caravel accounts on the same install and keys getting invalidated, but I'll look into it more once I get a fresh key...

For the record, if you have trouble getting the email, and it's not just trapped in your spam filter, then you can request one from your profile and it will pop right up in your browser - no need to wait for an email.

That's brilliant... Maybe this feature should be made "less hidden" and promoted as the only way to get a new key. Would probably avoid a lot of posts similar to mine.

Putting it on the front page (maybe in the menu at the top) might not be as stupid an idea as it first sounds...

Amen. It'd clean the email line, and be a very effective way of getting more people to show up on the forum. Highly efficient, too. And, since some major forum participants didn't know, this NEEDS be made known...maybe in the FAQ.

Doesn't the FAQ have the same problem? (That it needs to be made known, that is...)

The problem with FAQs is that, if people read them at all, they only tend to read them if they've actually got a question. An entry in the FAQ doesn't help much if it's a solution for a problem you didn't know you had.

I have a problem, maybe I'm only incompetent. I'm logged in this forum but I' can't connect with caravelnet in the game. I play city beneath. When i try to ask a new key the answer is "You are not a registered user of caravelnet". I haven't find a solution in the FAQ. Can you help me? tnk

This forum membership and CaravelNet membership(which allows you to submit highscores, beta test holds on private beta boards etc - more about it here) are different. CaravelNet membership is NOT free. It costs 12$ per year, you can buy it here

You should have got a free trial though when you purchased TCB so you can try out the features (in-game chat, in-game hold downloads etc). Can only recommend it if you play DROD a lot
