As I write this, there are still many, many e-mails left to deliver for notifying people. And they are still trickling out. If you haven't got one (or twenty-one) yet, I will make a guess that your e-mail address on file with your account ends in:

@yahoo.com
@hotmail.com
@gmail.com
@aol.com

These are the ones that take much longer to get delivered because there are many recipients at those domains and we have to throttle mail sent per-site.

Aheh. Um, well... thanks, all of you. I really appreciate it.

A nickname, huh? Let's see....

Well, calling from references that I currently love and adore did occur to me (maybe something to do with Riskbreakers, or maybe Godot (not the play))... as did certain somewhat obscure chain-links (Magus sprung to mind, but that's just three steps removed from DROD 3.1).

But, let's face it. 3.1's important, so it should mean something more to everyone, right?

The game industry has a phrase called "gone gold", meaning the final version of a product, ready for release. Sure, TCB was technically released in April, but the term still applies: those CDs are still waiting, after all. So, 3.1 is gold.

But gold what? Sounds kinda boring on its own. Let's DRODify it a little.

So, a few words attempted, I settled on... well. How about we just try it.

"The Golden Fegundo".

Works well enough for me - and I'm sure you can find your own interpretation of the meaning behind it. There's so many to choose from, after all.
