I was being chased by the barghest(is that how you spell it?) when this error occored.

I was once west of the entrance of the mercenary camp the, leaving to the east.

What does this mean???

It means that you managed to simultaneously move to the next room and die by barghest bite - both of which cause the game to switch rooms. If they occur at the same time, the game won't know which room to switch to, and aborts. This is exceedingly rare, and you appear to be the first person encountering this.

I'd suggest you try again. You don't really have a reason to be in that room and run in that direction at that point.

It happened again and I noticed that the barghest was at the other end of the room at the time. Me no understand dis.

I'll save if I can get into the same position again.
My reason for going that way was it looked like it might be easier to get in to the camp.
