So my presumption (read: presumption) about Legendary Architects is that if you contributed code, music, sound, or food to the creation of the game you get to be one. So why isn't Erik one?

He is a Legendary Smitemaster, like Schik and Mattcrampy. They have the ability to make changes to the forums. That's why mrimer, who is basically the lead programmer of 1.6 and 1.7, is a Legendary Architect. I think that trick is also a Legendary Architect. Erik and Schik are both programming on 1.7, Mattcrampy is the webmaster...so basically just along for the ride :p .

To expand on Oneiromancer's comments a little -

Legendary Smitemasters have ultimate control over the forums - ability to delete posts, ban users, create new forums, etc.

The Legendary Architect title was created for a couple of reasons:
- To distinguish DROD team members from the masses
- To allow them to create new topics on the News forum

We didn't want just anybody to create new News topics, since they also end up on drod.net.
