It appears that I need to lead the three snakes to the bombs, but first have to make certain their tails are the correct length to rest on the trapdoors but not block my entry to the fuse. I am unable to get the third snake to the bomb. Now I doubt that I am doing anything correctly. Help please.

Thank you, but I have no problem making the snakes shorter. Actually I have had some problems keeping them long enough or even alive. What I am having a problem with is getting the third snake to the bomb. Am I correct that I am supposed to do this. If so I possibly need a demo. I have tried everything I can think to do.

What can I say? You probably know what to do. The rest is luck (for me). Here's a demo.

What I am having a problem with is getting the third snake to the bomb.

I take it that the first two where easy because you were leading the serpents from in front. However, you can also maneuver serpents from behind in the same way... a serpent that's moving directly away from you will keep doing so until it runs into something. So the "trick" is to get the serpent to be moving north directly towards the slot when you're directly south of the serpent. Fortunately, the target direction is north which makes this relatively easy (because snakes have a preference for north and east when they don't have a better choice).

The trick I use for that is

I just completed this room, and something just happened that surprised me: I killed a long snake in a single move! It made me laugh out loud.

Actually, I didn't do it, a builder created a pit under its head and it slithered down the pit into oblivion.

Here's an image of the move before this happened.

I've also seem builders kill each other using this mechanic.

Neither is useful here, (I can't see a non trial-and-error way of doing the shortening) but you never know when arcane knowledge like this might come in handy.
